Italian luxury fashion house Fendi has launched a collection of travel accessories meant for your furry friends. The pet collection features a pet carry bag with a customizable leather label, which can double up as a weekend travel bag as well. Also a part of the collection is a water-repellent, nylon-based coat for dogs and their rainy day walks. A brown fabric leash and matching collar were also part of the collection. Their launch campaign featured endearing pictures featuring dog models Popeye, Ramses and Happy.
The collection is sure to keep our four-legged friends feeling comfortable as well as chic, proving fashion inclusivity is not restricted to just age, race or gender but also to our furry friends. Pet fashion, however, is no stranger in today’s age of social media. With pet influencers like Tikka the Iggy and Boobie Billie providing a dose of fashion and fun in the pandemic era, pet collections like these could prove to be commercially successful as well.
While the number of pet owners also increased during the pandemic, a report by Women's Wear Daily says that sales for pet products in spring 2020 had significantly increased since 2019 as more pet owners began working from home.
