Women can achieve anything when they are determined, and one such sphere is bodybuilding and weight lifting. In the recently-concluded National Bodybuilding Championships, Geeta Saini from Haryana was proclaimed the winner. The 13th Senior Women's Body Building Competition was held at Indira Gandhi Pratishtha in Gomti Nagar in Lucknow, on April 4, an annual tournament organised by Uttar Pradesh Body Building Association.
Among the winners, Sanju bagged the gold medal at the eighth Women's Sports Model Physics in the below 162cm category competition while Karnataka’s Ankita clinched gold in the above 162 cm category. Apart from this, West Bengal’s Sonia Mitra took first place in the eighth Women's Sports Model Physics (Open category).
Present at the event were fitness guru Chetan Pathare, Arjuna awardee Premchand Degra, Hiral Shah (First Women Secretary, Indian Women's Body Building Federation), and Arvind Madho (President, Body Building Federation of India).
Others in attendance at the event were Jayveer Raj Singh Gohil (Yuvraj, Bhavnagar), Gaurav Taneja (famous YouTuber), Yatindra Singh (professional bodybuilder), General Secretary, Indian Olympic Association, Anandeshwar Pandey, RP Singh (Director, Sports Department), and Municipal Commissioner of the Lucknow Municipal Corporation, Ajay Kumar Dwivedi.
