Swedish furniture brand, IKEA, has launched a shopping app for its Indian customers in a bid to expand its customer reach, which is proving to be limited owing to COVID-19 restrictions. The app is available to both IOS as well as Android users and enables customers from Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Surat, and Baroda to shop through the application.
The mobile app features over 7,000 products with ratings, reviews and recommendations for an easy customer experience, also featuring a feed for each user based on their past purchases and interests. While the app offers a seamless virtual experience, it has also been designed to lend a helping hand to customers during their in-store experience. Customers will be able to add products to their shopping list on the app whilst shopping in-store and use built-in barcodes to browse through more details about any particular product.
Talking about the app launch, IKEA India’s country commercial manager, Kavitha Rao, said in a statement, “We are very excited to announce the launch of the IKEA app for the many people in India. The app launch is a part of IKEA’s omni-channel approach to meet the many people of India. It will be through a combination of big IKEA stores, smaller city-centre stores, and online platforms. IKEA will continue to focus on building stronger digital capacities and expand to more cities to meet 100 million people in the coming years.”
