In an effort aimed at creating a supportive and inclusive environment, as well as harnessing the energy and enthusiasm of the women of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha launched HAUSLA – Inspiring inspiring her growth, a comprehensive programme for Catalysing Women Entrepreneurship in the Union Territories (UT), during a ceremony held at Srinagar.
Labelling the event as the ‘beginning of a new era in women entrepreneurship’, LG Sinha said that women of J&K are capable of achieving great heights in every field, and history is replete with great women leaders from the territory. In a statement to ANI, LG Sinha said, “There is no field- political, social or economic, in which the women of Jammu and Kashmir haven’t earned accolades and prestige. The social status of women in the society of Jammu and Kashmir was much better than other parts of the country even several centuries ago.”
Speaking on the significance of the scheme, LG Sinha said that programme has been designed in a scientifically efficient way and targets women entrepreneurs already established in the field of self-employment. This will create a platform for women to explore their potential and subsequently channelise their business acumen, helping them overcome challenges related to finances, legal, and societal biases by focusing on their innate potential.
“With the launch of HAUSLA, a strong foundation has been set for the economic and social independence for our daughters and sisters. I am sure that a new eco-system of women entrepreneurs will be created in J&K,” LG Sinha added.
